CCA190J Creative Industries Landscape
Introduction to the varied and essential jobs in the creative industries for students with a lot, little, and no experience in the arts. Through research, reflection, and guest speakers, students learn about opportunities applicable to their potential career paths.
CCA201 Introduction to Arts Management
Overview and exploration of the foundational areas of arts management to discover the collaborative nature between arts managers, artists, and audiences that create healthy and sustainable creative enterprises, with attention to emerging trends in the sector.
CCA218 Arts Thinking, Arts Writing
Miami Plan Advanced Writing and Signature Inquiry course in the area of Creativity, Storytelling, and Design. Students learn how to think deeply about works of art in themselves and in their broader contexts. This thinking informs writing about the arts in various genres.
CCA304 Financial Management in the Arts
Builds working knowledge of sound financial management tools to plan, control, interpret, and communicate the financial position of arts entities, with emphasis on individual financial literacy and competence. Complemented with introduction to development in the arts with focus on grant writing, individual giving, special events, and development plans.
CCA320 Arts Management & Arts Entrepreneurship Studio 2, Career Toolbox for the Arts
Students create and iterate essential components of career resources and continue developing their arts management & arts entrepreneurship e-portfolio. The course forefronts creative thinking, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills.
CCA401 Strategic Innovation in the Arts
Miami Capstone exploring the nature of strategy and innovation, strategic thinking, and innovative strategies. Students analyze a leader’s role in creating and executing innovative strategies. Learning is applied to personal and professional goals, as well as working with a real client to identify challenges and innovate solutions. Clients, select: College Artisans Shop, Enjoy Oxford, Fitton Center for the Arts, Oxford Community Arts Center, ThreadUp Oxford.
CCA420 Arts Management & Arts Entrepreneurship Studio 3, Professionalism in the Arts
Students gain practical experience by self-defining arts management & arts entrepreneurship projects. Students finalize an arts management & arts entrepreneurship e-portfolio. Additionally, students consider operating a creative enterprise with emphasis on developing creative thinking, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills.
AE7708 Universal Design for Learning: Disability Studies and Art Education. Lecturer

Online, asynchronous course considering how critical disability studies, disability justice, liberatory access, and Universal Design can inform multiple learning sites, including K-12 and university classrooms, museums, and online learning sites. 13 graduate students.
